About Pierre
I grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana where I obtained my BSN from the Louisiana State University Health Science Center. I received my MSN (Nurse Practitioner) and PhD from the University of California, San Francisco. I just completed a post-masters certificate as a Psychiatic-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from UCSF.
I’m currently working as a Drug User Health Nurse Practitioner on a Hosptial based addiction consult service where I diagnose substance use disorders and develop treatment plans. I provide CBT-informed and DBT-informed therapy to help patients achieve their goals. In the past, I had the honor of developing one of the largest PrEP Health Programs in the world and was the first to launch a PrEP on demand/2-1-1 dosing program in the USA. I also implemented a Hep C treatment program in a syringe access center, a rapid HIV treatment program, and a rapid re engagement programming for people who have fallen out of care. I use point of care laboratory testing solutions to improve care and I have served as a technical consultant in the development of a moderate complexity lab. I support the development of RN-delivered community-based care, which allows nurses to practice to the full extent of their license.
It’s been humbling to see all the attention my work has received and I’m now eager to share everything I’ve learned with others.
I go by Pierre but my first name is Pierre-Cédric. My mom doesn’t like it when I go by Pierre.
